By Virtue Came Birth
by Shirley Carr

I read the wisdom of a king
Inspired by the Supreme King
To bring queens into His Court
Escorted with a Divine Plan
God's Nobel PRIZE
Now is our moment NO COMPROMISE
with our i's watching God
It has been script and over 31 times versed
That we are women of worth
Like Eve the first to birth the living
Paula Giddings because When and Where We Enter
Is the center of our revolutionary presence
This is for the very essence of Esther and Ida B. Wells
They stood before a nation to tell
You can not hang my people
So we stand equally equipped with God to
Spit a broken syn..tax..ed and charged back to death
Like the very breathe of Sojourner Truth
Thou informally educated she eloquently stated
"AIN'T I A WOMAN"
When our words form text
like Sister Souljah's No Disrespect
Take Tina who sang What's Love Got To Do with IT?
This is for every woman who's been hit
Physically socially emotionally politically.
We have been defined
We have been double marginalized
Now lies are being exposed
Like Joan Morgan stated
We are not ..garden tools
If you don't know you better check
When Chickenheads Come Home to Roost
This is for the compassionate yet defiant
Martha & Mary-Mary Church Terrell
For every woman jailed and if anyone has a story to tell
Then Mary who carried the perfect sacrifice
A life apart of a greater plan
For women who can stand when weeping endures for a night
Continue to fight and persevere
Because the moment is here
When sitting on the seat of DO NOTHING
No longer becomes our chair
Our moment is here to move into position
As Kingdom Carriers to give Birth
Because we are women of God and that makes us
Virtuous!

Luke 1:39-45
39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!"
