Authenticated Love
by PamFord Davis

It is so easy to express love; yet, it is so difficult to demonstrate its authenticity. We dowel out love to those we deem worthy, and take it back at the slightest infraction. If provoked, we either react with vengeance or withhold affection.

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil (1 Corinthians 13:4-5NKJ)." Paul clearly stated how we are not to behave. How do we show real love?

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends (John 15:12-13 NKJ)." His expressions of love were not empty words; He went to the cross and authenticated love through sacrifice.
