Heavy Burdens

Heavy Burdens

My heart is laden heavy today
I feel unable even to pray
Groanings within must do
God knows their meaning is true

Giving it all to the Lord
At a loss for words
Why must life have surprises
Weary tears fill up my eyes

Quiet reflections bring the pain
Of hope faltering without gain
What must be happening inside
To bring the sobs being cried

Once again in survival mode
Carrying this heavy load
Letting go with abandon to Him
Praying for an absence of sin

Jesus, let me lean on your shoulder
This world just got a little bit colder
Too tired to walk on all alone
I am weak, but you are strong.

Burdens lain down at your feet
Hope springs eternal you see
You hold my life in your hands
You very will is my command

I am a 61 year cancer survivor just recently become a writer. I write short stories, articles and poems of Christian or Spritual nature.
