Labor Pains
by PamFord Davis

I am the mother of two grown children, and a proud-as-punch granny. My children are now in their forties. Though my memory of yesterday fades fast, my recall of childbirth is fresh as daisies. I had long labor, for both our daughter and son. Labor pains began on Saturday and each was born on Sunday. I endured the suffering with great expectancy.

I am learning lessons from the labor room. At age 63, I can find strength through the Holy Spirit to suffer long. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (Galatians 5:24 NKJ)." I once counted the minutes between labor pains. Today, I count my blessings!
