Left Hand Is Blessed
by Leonard Granger LEN'S LINES --- A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger Left Handed Blessing? As I have gone through life, have often wondered why I was born left handed? Recently saw a report stated that only 7% of the world population is born left handed. Now that is a very small minority that I find myself, so this got me to wondering. why is everything for the right handed person? We see most baseball players batting right handed and the cars at intersections approaching from the right have the right away. We can make a right hand turn on a red light, and even the correct answers to tests and contests are called right answer. Then when a person is sworn into an office they place their right hand on the Bible. When we enter a store with two doors the right hand one is inbound and on leaving we exit by way of the right hand door. Even in nature we see water flushed has a right hand spiral, as it goes down the drain. I thought maybe the Bible would help me in searching for an answer. Is God right or left handed as he says His Son Jesus Christ will be seated at His right hand? We see in the Old Testament, Psalms 110-1, " The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool." Then in Isaiah, 41, verse 10, " Fear not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea,, I will help you, I will uphold thee with my righteous right hand." In the New Testament, we see our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ speaking. Matthew, Chapter 23, verses 33 and 34, " And he will sit the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on His left." The King will say to those on His right hand, " Come you Blessed of my Father in trust the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the earth." In Revelation, 2-2, we see." These things He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in midst of the seven golden lamp stands." However, Apostle Paul, says in 1 Corinthians,. Chapter 7,Verse7. " For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in his manner and another in that". At this point I was at a loss to find why God created left handed people, so asked my Pastor, Gerald Harder for his help. He said the Bible, however does mention lefties. And they are most up lifting verses. Proverbs 3:16 " Length of day is in her right hand, and in her left hand riches and honor." Also in Judges 20-16 , "Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men left handed, every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss." Pastor add, " Would hate to get in an argument with these guys". Yes, each of us have a gift from God whether we are right handed or left handed. Our God sent His Son our Gracious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to die on the cross and give us an avenue to God . We read in John 3 , verses 16 and 17, " For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." As a left handed person we may not get all the benefits granted the majority of right handed people, however our Lord makes no distinction. We all are offered His love and salvation, if we only ask Him into our hearts. Yes, let us put our Hope, Trust and Faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pray each of us will be in the church of our choice on Sunday, signing and worshipping , no matter if we hold the song book in different hands. God Bless America No Copyright.
