Drip, Drip, Drip!
by PamFord Davis

As a writer, I'm a woman of many words; yet, I'm always trying to pull new ones out of thin air. I want just the right word to convey the emotions of the main character, or to catch the attention of the reader. As a wife, I need to be a woman of few words.

Nagging gets me nowhere. In the words of the highly esteemed Barney Fife, "Zip it!" Do I want my better half to do me a favor, or carry out a promise he's made? Patience is a virtue; nagging is a character flaw.

Will my life-mate characterize me as a nagging spouse? "A nagging wife is like water going drip-drip-drip (Proverbs 19:13b TEV)." A contentious wife can silence the dripping of a leaky faucet and droning of nagging. I get the point!
