Cobbler and Creator
by PamFord Davis

The art of shoe making and repair is nearly a lost art. Like watchmakers and TV repairman, the professions have practically vanished. In our disposable culture we buy, use, throwaway and repeat the cycle. Cobbler's shops once graced the streets of hamlets and bustling cities. Shoes were made to last and were valued.

Moses prophetically envisioned enduring shoes. "And of Asher he said, 'Let Asher be blessed with children; let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oil. Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be (Deuteronomy 33:24-25 KJV)."

The durable shoes are the work of the Master. He prepared a covering for blessed feet! "How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things (Romans 10:15b KJV)." Get ready-get set-go!
