Christian Soldiers Prayer
by Lewis E. Thomas

"Lord, battles sometimes rage within my mind
Battles that are unseen by the spiritually blind.

Two opposing forces fighting inside my head
Light versus Darkness, the living and the dead.

As I combat evil that comes against my mind
Let me conquer cruelty and push forward to be kind.

Make me a wise soldier in this spiritual war
Give me eyes to spot the things that you deplore.

Let me combat evil every time it comes my way
Let me triumph over sin every single day.

Help me capture the enemy with your Guns of Love
Help me lead them to your Throne up above.

I know evil can slip in past even the most devout
So mold me into a wary soldier and a watchful scout.

Lord, help me recruit others that they might believe
Keep me fighting strong and let me never ask for leave.

Let me never retreat or turn tail and run
Let Satan see me advancing against him with your Son!"

Remind me after each battle and every loss
That Jesus won the war when He died on the Cross.

"Amen"

2 Timothy 2:3-4
Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2nd Corinthians 10:3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
1st Peter 2: 11Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Ephesians 6 10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
