Gambling With Sin
by Lewis E. Thomas Our time to live is worth an immeasurable price Some gamble with time as they roll Sin's dice. Some waste all their time seeking a sexual thrill Some waste time trying to put more in the till. Some squander their time to gossip or flirt Some waste their time shopping for a new shirt. Some gamble their time that they'll become a Beauty Queen Some throw time away to what they see on the screen. Some gamble time against the Law, making a Wild bet But, twenty years in Leavenworth ain't paid that debt yet! Some waste time continually on a fish in the lake While some waste there time for another party to make. Some spend all their time to sleep and nod But, some invest their time in seeking God. Some will use their time to pray for a friend And pray to God for a soul to win. Some invest their time at the foot of the cross Because the interest that's earned will exceed the cost. Some invest a lot of time down on their knees Some use all their time for Jesus to please. Some use their time that a soul may be blessed Working for Jesus and doing their best. Some invest their time in the Pearl of Great Price But, some folks just keep on rolling Sin's dice! They just rolled double threes, three times in a row But, with 666 there's only one place to go! You rolled Sin's dice good, yes you rolled them well Winning a one-way ticket to where unlucky gamblers dwell. The gamblers in this club all scream and yell It's the Gambling Casino for Losers, God calls it HELL!
