by Lewis E. Thomas Gethsemane is where Jesus and His disciples often went to pray It was the spot Judas chose when Jesus he decided to betray. Gethsemane was a place that all of Heaven watched from above Gethsemane is where Christ was betrayed by one whom He loved. At Gethsemane the sin of all who would ever live or die Where dumped overwhelmingly upon Jesus as He prayed and cried. Gethsemane is where our Lord prayed for the living and the dead Gethsemane is where Jesus prayed until His sweat became red. Gethsemane should be precious to you on that path you trod That was the place where Jesus called out your name to God. Gethsemane was the place where our Lord's sweat turned to blood At Gethsemane He saw His crucifixion and felt the hammer's thud. Gethsemane is where our Lord prepared himself to die At Gethsemane Jesus began to drink the Bitter Cup for you and I. When we think about Gethsemane it should make us cry Because it was because of us that the Lord had to die. Gethsemane is where our souls hung in the balance you see As Jesus prayed "Father if it be possible let this cup pass from me!"
