Giving Honor
by Lewis E. Thomas These lines are to honor Kenneth and Thelma Gunn Who've taught us so much about God's Holy Son. Sister Gunn is such a Special Lady of Grace God's love always seems to shine on her face. Brother Gunn preaches with the roar of a bear To wake us from slumber to see Satan's snare. Kenneth and Thelma are our Watchman on the wall To sound the trumpet when Satan is on the crawl. These pastors blow the trumpet to warn all the sheep When Satan gets one they cry and they weep. They teach us how to use God's Sword with skill To cut Satan down before a soul he does kill. They teach us to spot Satan's snare that's unseen With their spiritual eye and spiritual vision so keen. They are veteran soldiers who have fought a long time They see the enemy when we are so blind. They want us to become soldiers who'll never back down Who'll stay in the battle until Satan is bound. They say, "Fight hard while it is still day!" "For Jesus our Commander is now on His way!" "He is Master of Battle this we do know!" "And He is much stronger than Satan our foe!" What will we do when these two are called home? And we have to stand and fight Satan alone? I hope we'll learn all we can from these two So when they are gone we'll know what to do! When Jesus comes back the fighting will then end We'll join them in the ranks of God's faithful veterans! They were given to us by God up above Let us honor them and show them they are loved.
