Leftovers Advantageous!
by PamFord Davis

What is your honest opinion of leftovers? Are they undesired scraps, convenient quick meals, or the reason you can't wait to raid your refrigerator? My husband and I agree leftover spaghetti is often better than the first serving. It is advantageous for us to save what we did not eat.

"Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them. He kept giving them to the disciples to set before the crowd. Everyone ate and was filled. Then they picked up 12 baskets of leftover pieces (Luke 9:16-17 HCS)." What next?

The scripture does not reveal what the disciples did with the leftovers they gathered. Did they dutifully carry them to widows or waifs? I can only speculate, but suspect any recipients were overwhelmed by the unexpected food. Leftovers? They may be sumptuous surprises!
