If There Is No God
by Lewis E. Thomas Some say there is no God, That we are on our own! They never say Grace before the meals eaten in their Home. They raise their little children with nary a thought for God Then wonder why their children go wrong on the path they trod! I have heard the argument many times against belief in God Let me ask you something on that path you trod????? If there is no God then what force caused me to bow my knee? What caused me to repent in a Church where Jesus set me free? What force causes me to hate the evil way I used to live? What force is causing me to look for ways to love and give? You say there is no God yet God has changed my whole life! Now, I would never even consider being unfaithful to my wife! If there is no God then tell me who cleaned me up? Who took away my old sinful heart and ways that were corrupt? Who cleaned up my foul mouth of dirty words and profanity? Who gave me a new heart that wants to reach out to humanity? If there is no God Then who? Lewis E. Thomas As given by God on 10-5-2011 This morning when I stepped out my front door it was still dark. I stood on my steps a few minutes with my hands up looking at the stars and I began thanking God for a new day and giving Him praise. Suddenly a shooting star went by and disappeared! "It was Awesome!" Then on my way to work I asked God to give me a new poem because it had been a good while since I had written one. I asked God to give me one with words directed by the Holy Spirit that would touch hearts! When I got in to work around 6:30 God gave me "If There Is No God". ...
