JUDGEMENT DAY
by Lewis E. Thomas

God's eyes were as a flame of fire as He sat upon His Throne.
Lighting flashed with great thunder as I bowed before Him all alone.

His hair was as white as snow, He had a rainbow above His head
He had a Great Book before Him; it was time to judge the dead.

His voice shook the foundations of Heaven as He gave His holy angels commands.
To touch me and to strengthen me so that I could before Him stand.

His eyes pierced right through me as He looked deep into my soul.
Then Gabriel opened the Book of Records so that my history could unfold.

His records revealed many opportunities to accept His only begotten Son.
But, I always "put it off " so that I could have my fun.

God searched the Book of Life, His sad look filled me with fear
Then He spoke those terrifying words: "Your name does not appear!"

God's angel then escorted me down, but to where I could not tell.
Then I saw the Lake of Fire, I knew I was in Hell.

God did all that He could do when He sent Jesus to the cross.
To pay for your sin and mine so that we should not be lost.

Give your heart to Jesus today while you still have the time
God is offering you one more opportunity as you end this rhyme.
