Silent Resolve
by Lewis E. Thomas I saw a great evil raising its head I sat back and relaxed upon my bed. It crawled closer to my sleeping child I decided to just watch for a while. The evil drew closer but I sounded no alarm God will never allow my child to be harmed. God can handle it, no need to get involved I remained still with my silent resolve. God gave me a voice and the power to act But I did nothing and that is a fact! My bitten child begins to bleed It is too late now to intercede! As my beloved begins to die I heard God speak and ask me, "WHY?" They lower the little coffin down below My resolve has delivered a terrible blow! Now I am feeling the same sensation!
