THE GIFT
by Lewis E. Thomas The Gift was left at my door wrapped in crimson red I took the Bible into my home and tossed it under my bed. I never opened it up! and I really don't know why! Strange!, When I looked at it I would weep and cry. It had arrived with no card attached to reveal the sender It's probably just a curling iron or some fancy blender! It sat under my bed for thirty years and a day Then I pulled The Gift out and I began to pray. I began to weep severely as I slowly opened The Gift up For thirty years my life had been immoral and corrupt. I began to shake and tremble when I saw God's Amazing Grace The Gift of Love and forgiveness was glowing upon my face! Thirty years of my life wasted living with guilt and dread As The Gift remained unopened collecting dust under my bed! God is offering The Gift to you as you read this simple rhyme! Will you receive The Gift and open it while you still have time? Jesus is The Gift that lasts throughout eternity and time! Jesus is the one who told me to write this rhyme!
