THE KING OF KINGS
by Lewis E. Thomas One day a King left His Throne And came to Earth to die. It was the only way to save The likes of you and I! This King had created us all And placed us on Earth below But though His hand had made us This King we did not know. He designed us to live forever We were never meant to die. But Death placed its hand upon us When Eve gave in to Satan's lie. Death had us in its grip And it covered us like a flood Until King Jesus stepped down from Heaven And shed His precious blood. Upon a cruel rugged cross This King bled and died As He took our place at Calvary Where He was crucified. Only the innocent blood of Christ Could atone for the sin of all And break the grip of Death That came through Adam's fall. All that love this King Have been lifted from sin's flood For they have been born again And are now of Royal Blood! How could anyone not love Such a King as He?
