The Sacrifice of Children
by Lewis E. Thomas

Let us take a look back in time to the Old Testament days
When the nation of Israel angered God with their wicked ways.

Israel turned against God to follow a most wicked desire
To sacrifice their children to false gods burning them in the fire.

It is soon to be 2010 and yet we still do the same
Sacrificing our children offering them up to Hell's flames.

You ask me; "How is that possible in this civilized age?"
"How can we be guilty of this and deserving of God's rage?"

We raise children to worship idols and to covet material things
To lead a Godless life with no thought for the King of Kings.

We offer them up to the God of This World as a sacrifice
As they follow our example to pay the ultimate price!

Is this not sacrificing them to idols as the heathen in the past?
How long will God endure it? How long will His mercy last?

Stand in front of your mirror and take a serious look
Are you teaching your child to follow everything in God's book?

Are you offering them up to God to bring glory to His name?
Or marching them down Sin's Road that leads to Hell's flames?

Jeremiah 32:35 And they built the high places of the Baal which are in the valley of Ben-hinnom to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech which I did not command them, nor did it come into my mind that they should do this abomination to cause Judah to sin. "Moloch was an old Canaanites idol, called by the Phoenicians and Carthaginians Melkarth, Baal-melech, Malcom, and other such names, and related to Baal, a sun-god worshipped, like Kronos and Saturn, by the sacrifice of children. It was represented by a brazen statue, which was hollow and capable of being heated, and formed with a bull's head, and arms stretched out to receive the children to be sacrificed. From the time of Ahaz, children were slain at Jerusalem in the valley of Ben-Hinnom, and then sacrificed by being laid in the heated arms and burned.
