The SON of GOD
by Lewis E. Thomas He left his Father's Throne in a kingdom far away He discarded his robe and crown and took on the form of clay. He journeyed to a distant land that was stricken with a terrible curse It was that dot in the galaxy that we know as earth. Death had smitten the earth and she staggered to and fro Sin had hit her hard and struck her a terrible blow. He stepped into that land that he knew so well A land that had been taken over by demons straight from hell. Man was under the curse of sin that came through Adam's fall Satan had us in the corner with our backs against the wall. A death sentence had been passed to each and every soul Sin had blinded our minds so the truth could not unfold. The Son loved us very much because we were created by his hand So he did the only thing he could to save this thing called man. He came to take our place and to pay Sin's terrible cost He took our place at Calvary when we nailed Him to the cross. With his Royal blood He redeemed us from Sin's terrible curse And made a way of salvation through a second birth. Eternal life is available to all who will bow the knee Just reach out and take it because it is a gift that's free.
