Payday

Recovery is hard
when your body is broken
When for the last three years
On the street you were forgotten
Getting your body
severely banged up
From the stupidity of of kids
That wanted to be tough
But then you find,
true friend by your side
Then you come to realize
that you werem't really alone all the
time

My accident was the result of being
alone
But that was how I chose to be
How stupid of me-
My friends let me be

That's what I said I wanted
Trying to hide from my sorrow
And forget past trouble.

I have found after all this time
A man needs a companion by his side
Life is too short
to spend it looking for more
I think that it's time to be satisfied

Dear Lord, please show me the way
To get through these days
I promise to try
to get these problems behind
And thank you for my friends
and especially my Brother
If it wasen't for them
I would nevergotten better

When my life is again strong
I will try and repay them all
I know that I can't do enough
for this debt
And people care not
because it came from their heart

So all I think I can do is bide my time
and when a soul comes
along in great need
I'll send this blessing right on down
And try and do a good deed
I feel that's what my helpers
would be happy to see

Dear Lord, watch over them
for caring so well
and solve all their problems
If they'll follow your lead
I reccomend a gold star
for how they treated me

Blessed hearts
make the world go round
And sharing your love
is the greatest thrill that's around,
Amen

I was homeless when I wrote this after having been run over once. I have since been run over again and now have traumatic brain injury. God let me live for a purpose. As a former Navy man and as a Christian I believe that God wants me to share his impact in my life.
