UNPROFITABLE SERVANT
by Lewis E. Thomas A Christian came before Heaven's Gate But God's Angels would not let him in. He had on a wedding garment That was defiled with the stains of Sin. He was an unprofitable servant From the First Church of The Dead. He pleaded and begged for his soul And this is what the Angels said: "Sir, You were Born Again!" "God gave you a spiritual birth!" "But your tree never produced fruit" "While you lived on earth!" "There are many souls in Hell!" "Who paid the ultimate price!" "Because you never fulfilled your calling" "To lead them to Jesus Christ!" "Man reaps what he sows!" "So God must send you down!" "To spend eternity with unprofitable servants" "Who hid their talents in the ground!" Lewis E.
