WHEN I WAS SEVEN
by Lewis E. Thomas When I was a child of seven I heard about a place called Heaven. I told Mama I wanted to go Where their garments are whiter than snow. So I knelt down beside my bed And I humbly bowed my head. I softly asked the Lord above To fill me with His love. He forgave me of all my sin And made me feel clean within. God filled me with His Spirit His voice I always hear it. By and by I have grown older When I pray now I am bolder. But I'll never forget the day When I first knelt down to pray.
