A Man Named Burgess
by Lewis E. Thomas I once met a man named Burgess He was quite a strange fellow indeed! Nevertheless, he was a likable sort so He must have come from good seed. God gave him a sense of humor He seemed to use all the time. But laughter is good for the soul And it is certainly not a crime. When it comes to those new fangled controls Well, Tom Burgess he is a pro! He has been known to hot-wire a computer Before you can say the word "GO!" He is always there for his family He never lets them suffer any need. That alone should be proof enough That he came from a pretty good breed.
