You Can Be a Planter or Harvester
by Fenny West

We are co-labourers with God, heir with Christ and joint-heirs with God. We are His hands and feet here on earth- His ambassadors. It is true that God can do anything, but He has chosen to work with us to achieve His divine purposes. What a glorious privilege! That is why even as a Body, we belong to each other and need each other, like the parts of the body.
'For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, you are God's building'. (1Cor3:9NKJV)

Hence, in the mission and vision of soul- winning, we can either be planters or harvesters. We have one cause- fishers of men. And this is the heart-cry of God. There are those gifted to be evangelists, others are supporters who can 'go' places they do not know or have not heard of through their prayers and /or support (logistic, financial, technical etc etc).

'So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one'.(Ezek.22:30)

Often the planter is different from the harvester. Even the Evangelist who ministers the word and has an immediate result of harvesting could be harvesting the planting and watering of others before him. God normally works on many people for a long time before they are saved.

So let us join hands together to 'let down the net' as planters and harvesters to the glory of God!

Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.(Luke 10:2)
Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.Matt9:37
Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
( John4:35)
18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 19 And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
