Complacency Kills
by Eyvonne Black

How many times do we say 'Cho, I'll do it later?' But later never comes. How many times do we hear 'Procrastination in a Thief?' But we ignore the signs.

The Bible says at Romans 13v11 (NIV) 'And do this, understand the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed'.

We all have a God-given purpose to fulfil in this life and it really doesn't matter what your circumstances are. Your assignment is from God and he will not choose a project for you that is not manageable. Yes some of us will doubt our capabilities, but that is where we can prove our faith and recognize we will not succeed in our strength alone. Paul, when speaking to the church of God, writes in 1 Corinth 2v5 (NIV) 'so that our faith might not rest on man's wisdom, but on Gods Power'.

Today when you hear God's voice, do not put it off. Walk in God's way; light a fire on the inside and be a now person. When God puts something in your heart do it, don't delay.

Think about how much you could have accomplished thus far, if you did not keep on putting things off. However, when you think of your assignment you must pray that your motives are pure and you are not carrying out an assignment for your own selfish reasons; putting on a show to gain willfully, without having real thought and consideration for others.

Haggai 1v5-7 (NIV) records a warning from God 'Now this is what the Lord Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways .You have planted much, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it". Haggai mentions again "Give careful thought to your ways".

Our window of opportunity may only come once, so think about the desires God had placed in your heart and Do it!
