WHOSO FINDETH A WIFE
by Izu Nnaji

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD Pro.18:22 (KJV).

This is the sure sign from the creator pointing every man to his real partner. Every man or woman born on earth has his or her own partner as long as they are humans.

God has placed the onus of doing this 'finding' on the man. Yes, the man sure has to go after his dear and vital missing rib.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. Eph. 5:31 (KJV).

Mere finding his real wife opens a man up to HIS FAVOUR. There is, however, no guarantee that this favour will be there forever. Nor does the man have a say in what the type or magnitude of this favour will be. It is only a sign by which the LORD subtly points a man to the right direction in the cause of his assigned duty 'to find'.

A typical example is the search for Rebekah. Abraham sent his servant to go and find and get a wife for his son Isaac. He assured the servant that the LORD would send HIS angel to go before him in that quest. And in the cause of his quest, the servant found himself making this simple supplication to God:

Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. Gen. 24:13-14 (KJV).

This is just one of the ways in which the sign may come. There are countless other ways. But the sign will surely be there if she's the one. The sign will be quite conspicuous but may yet go unnoticed if the seeker is not in spirit or in the right frame of mind. Being in spirit here means letting God go before you in your quest.

The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. Gen. 24:7 (KJV).

In the final analysis, if this divine sign is not there and this should be during the finding stage it is then very likely that she's not the one.
