Lord! Are You There?
by Karen Anderson

Do you believe that your spirit will live on? Where do you want to spend the rest of eternity? This story spoke to my heart and I pray it will speak to yours.

Jump After the long day at work in his cubicle, the young man simply wanted to go home, relax, and prepare for his next day at work. As he made his way toward the elevator, he heard screaming and saw black smoke and flames billowing out of the hallway. Panic gripped him as a succession of thoughts flew through his mind, "I'm on the sixth floor. I'll never make it down. I'm going to die!" What he considered to be his only escapethe hallwaywas engulfed in flames and impossible to navigate. As his mind continued to race, he heard fire engines and remembered that the office was lined with tall windows all across his floor. He coughed and staggered to the windows in hope of a swift rescue. Instead, when he looked down he could see nothing but a curtain of smoke covering the area. Through the smoke and flames, he realized that a crowd had gathered and along with the firemen everyone was yelling, "Jump!" "Jump!" The young man felt a cloud of fear envelop him. Over a loudspeaker he heard the voice of what he assumed to be a fireman, "The only way you'll survive is if you jump. We've spread out a safety net. You'll be perfectly safe." As the crowd continued to yell, the young man realized he didn't have the courage to make the leap without being able to see the net. His feet were cemented to the floor. Then, over the loudspeaker came the voice of his dad. "It's okay son, you can jump." As the familiar voice reached the young man, he felt the grip of fear lift. The trust and love that had been established between Dad and Son gave him the courage to jump safely down into the net. Retold by Tania Gray

Your life is a "burning building" and you are trapped. In desperation you are crying for help, but everything feels hopeless. All you see is doom and gloom and no way out of your plight. Your fear, which is the smoke & flames, is stopping you from seeing the exit. Listen! God is calling. He loves you more than any earthly father. Now, do you wait and see how close the fire gets to you or do you believe that God will SAVE YOUR LIFE? God's son, Jesus Christ, was sent to pay the death penalty for youHe is your safety net. JUMP into a personal relationship with Christ and be free. God will accept Christ's death on the cross as the payment for your sins. You can accept Christ or reject Him and be separated forever. Think about itforever is beyond our comprehension.

This relationship with God's Son is like taking a check to the bank. God's check is gooddeposit today. God is waiting for you beyond all the smoke and barriers in your life. He is calling out to you, "Son, trust mejump!" What are you going to dojump or stay trapped?

YOU ARE VALUABLE
"For God so loved (YOUR NAME) that He gave His one and only Son, that if (YOU) believes in Him then (he/she) shall not perish but have eternal life."

To accept Christ, say this simple prayer:
"Heavenly Father, I repent of my sins. I make Jesus the Lord of my life. I receive your forgiveness. From this moment on, I will live for you. In the name of Jesus, Amen."

There is a saying, "We only have this one life to live, so make it a good one." Where do you want to spend the rest of eternity? It is your time to set your spirit free and"Trust God and embrace this God's-life, and you'll receive God's everything." Welcome to the family of God!
