Fiscal Cliff
by PamFord Davis

It's the latest buzz. Nationally, we approach a fiscal cliff. We have a natural fear of falling. The possibility of losing our national financial footing and falling off a cliff is apt to make even the most blas fearful. Our sense of security dwindles. Not only countries face fiscal cliffs; individuals have taken the dive.

"Now when he had spent everything severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be in need (Luke 15:14 NAS)." The story of the prodigal son sums up the situation. He survived the fall from the fiscal cliff and started anew. He came to his senses. (Luke 15:17-19) I sense an application on a larger scale. If we will come to our senses globally, we can avoid the fiscal cliff.
