Sweets with God: HOW SWEET IT IS!
by Karen Anderson

Life can be so sweet like your favorite treatcandy, chocolate anything, pies, cakes, or whatever tickles your fancy. When you think of your favorite "sweet" treat, how does this make you feel? Do you get that almost giddy feeling of utter joy as you finish off that special whatever? Only problem is that once it is gone that happy, giddy feeling goes with it. Now you only have the memory and over a very short time that disappears too.

You might be one of those persons that, when someone looks at your life, it seems perfect with good relationships all around you. You go to an active lively church, are seen with the right people, healthy business, nice home, and comfortable finances. So what is wrong with this picture? Why don't you have that happy, giddy feeling like you have with your "sweet"? Here are some other questions for you to ponder. What has happened to the "sweets" in your life? Has your life become sour apples? Do you know why it has gone that way? Why has your life gone south for a time?

You may be asking these specific questions. The first thing I would look at is your relationship with God and His son, Jesus Christ. One of my personal opinions is; you get yourself so tied up with religion as the basis of your life. Religion is a man-made set of rules. It is not necessarily what God wants you to do. I'm not against religion, but what is most important in your life is your relationship with God.

First, are you right with Him? Have you accepted His son, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior? If not, now is the time. God is speaking to your heart"For God so loved [YOU] that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." It is such a simple prayer, admitting you are a sinner (doing wrong) and asking for forgiveness. Then invite Christ into your life. Now wasn't that easy? Welcome brother or sister to the family of God!

With your relationship now on track with God, look at these questions again. Remember, this decision is forever. With Christ at the center of your heart, you can now enjoy the "sweet" treats of your life. They are gifts from your Heavenly Father. Live on purpose with God at your center. Now enjoy!!!
