Jesus The Bridge To Heaven Mini series lesson 2

The goal of this lesson is to show that we have all sinned and come short of the
glory of God .

Outline of lesson 2:

Why must there be a second birth ?

1. Where did sin come from ?

( Webster New World Dictionary )
Sin: To commit an offense of fault of any kind.

2. God's creatures were made without sin .

A : The nature of Satan ( Lucifer ) before his fall.

1. Highest created angel.
2. Perfect in wisdom and beauty.
3. Blameless in his ways.
4. Dwelt in the direct presence of God.
5. In charge of protecting the Holiness of God.

Ezekiel 28 :14 "Son of man take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to
him, Thus says The Lord God," You had the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and
perfect beauty."

Ezekiel 28 :14 " You were The Anointed Cherub who covers, I placed you there,
you were on The Holy Mountain Of God."


B : The nature of Adam and Eve before their fall.

1. Highest created being on earth .
2. Created in the image of God .
3. blameless in their ways.
4. Had fellowship with God .
5. Placed as ruler over God's creation on the earth .


Genesis 1 : 26 " then God said, " let Us make man in Our image, according to Our
likeness: let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and
over the cattle over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps over
the earth."


3. How did Satan and man become sinners ?

( Websters New World Dictionary)

Rebellion: An act or state of armed open resistance to
authority,government,ect.

Disobedience : failure to follow commands.

A . Satan ( Lucifer ) became a sinner when he rebelled against God's authority .

1. Satan purposed in his heart to set up his own throne above God and all of
creation.

Ezekiel 28 : 16 - 17 " By the abundance of your trade, you were internally filled
with violence, and you sinned; therefore I have cast you as profane from The
Mountain Of God, and I have destroyed O Covering Cherub from the midst of
the stone of fire. (17) Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you
corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you down to the
ground; I put you before kings that they may see you."


Isaiah 14 : 12 - 15 " How have you fallen from Heaven, O Star Of The Morning,
Son Of The Dawn ! You have been cut down to the earth, you who have
weakened the nations ! (13) But you said in your heart" I will ascend to Heaven:
I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and i will sit on the mount of the
assembly in the recesses of the north. (14) I will ascend above the heights of
the clouds; I will make myself like The Most High ." (15 ) never the less, you will
be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of The Pit."


B. Adam and Eve became sinners when they disobeyed God.

1. Adam and Eve disobeyed God when they ate of the fruit of The Tree Of The
Knowledge Of Good And Evil which God commanded Adam not to eat from!

Genesis 2: 16 - 17 and The Lord God commanded the man saying," from any
tree of the garden you may eat freely ; but from The Tree Of The Knowledge Of
Good And Evil, you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it, you shall surely
die."

Romans 5: 12 " therefore, just as through one man sin entered into The World,
and death through sin , so death spread to all man, because all sinned ."
