Droppin' His G's
by PamFord Davis

I'm fixin' to tell ya'll a story. There was once an absent minded man who dropped his g's. His English teacher would be rollin' over in her grave! He told his wife he'd be comin' right back, just goin' to the barn to milk the cow. After grabbin' his cap, he pushed open the squeaky screen door. Rememberin' it needed oilin,' he started walkin' down the back porch steps. Crossin' the yard, he noticed the grass needed mowin.' He'd been promisin' the wife that he'd be gettin' round to it. Her patience was runnin' thin.

I'm still learnin' bout' patience. Troubles are testin' my patience; I'm confessin,' I aint far from losin' my temper. "My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of trouble. But this gives you a reason to be very happy. You know that when your faith is tested, you learn to be patient in suffering. If you let that patience work in you, the end result will be good. You will be mature and complete. You will be all that God wants you to be (James 1:2-4 ERV)." I reckon' the man who dropped his g's tried his teacher's patience. God is patiently watchin' over me
