Jesus' command: how faithful are you?
by Bola Olu-Jordan

"And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren" (Luk 22:31-32).

How true is the word of our Lord Jesus that Satan desire to have believers, that he may sift them as wheat! It is however, so very comforting that Jesus prayed for Simon and by extension, us, too.

What if he didn't pray for us? What if he left us to our own prayers? Would your current prayer life had saved you, or would your holiness and righteousness had prevented the tempter from having victory over you?

Satan is still going about like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour. But we are sustained by the prayer of our Savior, Jesus. Are we taking this for granted, without acknowledging it?

Being protected and preserved by the prayer of our Savior, we have a duty to our brethren: "when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren". Are we doing this? Remember, it's a command!
