Pilgrimage Upon the Waters
by Alicia Renkema The paradise of fly fishing; magenta glistening on the fins blend with "purple mountains majesty" makes my heart beat nice and regular like. Reciting Hemingway to the breeze as if it would answer back I see the fish swirling almost on top of the waters. Magenta, green; how magnificent everything looks! The trees , lurking in the background, whisper God's name and mine. Do the fish whisper too? Whether I capture the fish or set him free the fish is a miracle of beauty my Creator God gave to me when He gave me dominion over every living thing on the land and the sea. The gentle flick of the wrist casts us together as one as we fly along the horizon of the purple setting sun. Written by Alicia Renkema -- Now 56 yrs. old, I have been writing poetry since the age of 13. Some of my work has been published in church bulletins and writer's group devotionals. I also had a critique of a high school play published in a local newspaper. I love to study nutrition & to pray. Article Source: http://www.faithwriters.com |
