CREATION OR EVOLUTION
by ralph jackson

Many people do not believe there is a Creator because for the past to four decades the only thing that has been promoted as 'fact' in schools and textbooks is 'The Theory of Evolution'.  Today they do not even refer to it as a theory but as a fact. Consequently with this teaching comes the removal of 'absolutes'when it when it comes to human moral conduct.

The 10 Commandments

Once upon a time in the not too distant past, the 10 commandments, written down in the Bible, Exodus 20, were the moral framework for living and the foundation for the law of the land. Now these commandments have been all but obliterated from a teacher’s curriculum and replaced with a fable about the millions and millions of years of the evolution of human kind.   As a consequence, it doesn't matter what you do or believe in so long as it suites you.  Of course if you break the law of the land you will suffer the consequences, but because it is now no longer considered morally wrong to 'hate your neighbour', to commit adultery or to covet the goods of your neighbour, if you can get away with it, it's okay to do it.

Increase in Murders

We have seen a great rise in the murder of innocents; a child of 13 walking through a park in open daylight is stabbed to death for no reason. A vicar is knifed to death in his own parish. A child is abducted and never found. Every day on the news, we hear or someone being assaulted or murdered. We see pictures of children being blown to bits by their own government in Syria. There is a hatred of man against man. Anger of the soul seems to be the acceptable behaviour and keeps the news on-air. Very seldom do we hear of good deeds and when we do it is only at the end of a news programme of bad news. Even members of Christian churches are now promoting lifestyles that are prohibited in the Bible. Passages in the Bible, which do not conform to modern morality are glossed over or called out of date and only applied to the writer's day. Many Christian ministers tell their congregation that the Book of Genesis, particularly the Creation story, is a myth given to placate the simple minds of our antediluvian ancestors. They have been so brainwashed into believing the Theory of Evolution, they reduce the intelligence of those who lived several thousand years ago to a 'stone age' mentality. If they had believed that 'All scripture is God breathed'(2 Timothy 3:16-17), then they would know that mankind was created superior to anyone living today.

The Book of Genesis

God spoke directly to the author of the Book of Genesis on the mountain, where He gave Moses the tablets of stone engraved by His own hand? Is it plausible that God told Moses to write a mythological story to pass on to human kind?  For what purpose?  God does not create myths? He cannot lie and a myth is either part truth and part lie or a fable without any foundation of truth. Either the story of Creation is true or God is a liar?

God’s Character in the 10 Commandments

The 10 Commandments, which Adam and Eve were fully aware of, even before they were written down, are a transcript of the character of God. By removing the 7 days of creation account in Genesis, there is no need to keep one day in seven as the Sabbath.

The 4thCommandment

The 4th Commandment, which God said to 'Remember'was given to instruct man to rest and remember who their creator is? He blessed the day for mankind to keep forever, even in the new earth after the destruction of this one. (
Isaiah 66:23). It was because of disobedience to the law of God that Adam and Eve were expelled out to the Garden of Eden. Disobedience to the express will of God broke the bond that kept mankind safe from evil. God did not want his children to know the effects of evil. The test he gave them was simple:  “Do as I say and you will live eternally without knowing the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life? Disobey and you will die.”

Selfishness

Promoting self is a common human character fault, which started in the Garden of Eden. Separating herself from Adam, Eve wandered to the tree of knowledge of good and evil. She placed herself in a position of temptation and in her own strength was not able to resist the tempter. Adam, because of his love for Eve, chose to follow in her disobedience and the pair suffered the consequence and lost their place in the garden and access to the one trees fruit that could keep them alive for all eternity.  Those that have wondered away from God and promote the Theory of Evolution have removed themselves from His protection. They are now in peril of their lives. It may seem to them that they are indestructible. They may feel secure for a time, but there is a penalty to pay and that penalty is eternal death. The cloak of light that shields the believer through the sacrifice of Jesus, who bruised the head of the devil, does not cover those who choose the way of the world. They do not know it but they are the blind leading the blind into the pit of fire that is prepared for the devil and his angels. It should be noted that the fire is prepared for Satan and his angels and not for humans. However, if humans choose evil over good, they will be sucked into that fire never to return to life.

Final Judgment of the Wicked

A belief in the Theory of Evolution takes away a final judgement at the end of human life. It gives an illusion of freedom without consequences. There is no law to follow, no rules for living, no consequences for actions. Adolf Hitler was an atheist and a believer in evolution. He considered that might is strength and that it was morally right to obliterate those whom he considered of lower class; those he thought had not evolved to his idea of perfection his master race of humans. Pursuing this course he went against God, therefore he was destined to failure. All past dictators have had their day but failed. Many have died in their mad pursuit of power and no doubt before Jesus returns there will be others?

The Wages of Sin is Death

The Bible says that the wages of sin (transgression of the law) is death. (
Romans 6:23). The 10 Commandments point us to a right way to live. They cannot save us by obeying them, but we obey them because we are saved. Without them everything and anything goes. It is not difficult to see on whose side a person is. Listen to their words, look at their actions and you will see whether they are God's children or not. Of course there may be those that are hiding their lamp under a bushel for fear of being put to shame for their belief. God knows who they are and we can too, when we take time to get to know them. Also there are those who profess to know God, even go to Church, but their hearts have never changed. These are what the Bible calls spots at your feast. They are the Judases in your midst. Outwardly they profess their faith and to everyone who knows them they seem to be genuine but their motives are selfish. They need to be in amongst those who believe so they can receive the things of the flesh. They remain for the fishes and loaves and not for a change of heart. They will be spit out of God's mouth at the judgement. They will be refused entry into the kingdom because though they did many outward things in the name of God, their hearts were far from him, keeping the commandments of men rather than the commandments of God. How can a man follow God, yet deny His commandments? A rich man asked Jesus: "what must I do to enter heaven?" Jesus quoted a few of the commandments but the man's riches were a stumbling block for him. Had he used his wealth to help others, his riches would have been a blessing to him but he chose to value his riches above the needs of others and that was why Jesus said: 'it is easier for a camel to go through the eyes of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God (Matthew 7:21-23 & 19:24).  God cannot accept those who are not willing to give there all for Him. That does not mean that everyone should give up all his or her possessions in this world! Yet some will leave families and friends for Jesus only to receive even greater gifts in this world and the next? It is not the possessions of a man that stops him getting into heaven; it is how he values them and what he uses them for. Let others partake of what you have achieved. Give credit to those that have helped you. Share your acquisitions with others. Feed those who are hungry and give a drink to those who are thirsty. In doing these things, Jesus says: "you have done it to Me."  (Matthew 25:40)

Love for God

There is much talk about 'love for God' being all that is needed. We are under grace therefore we do not need the law? Does being under grace mean there is no law? Love is a verb and a verb is a 'doing' word therefore if we love God we will do what He commands us to do and He requires us to keep His commandments, which he says are not burdensome. His yoke is light because He takes the load Himself. Jesus died on the cross to save mankind and to vindicate God's broken law, which the devil says is unjust. Jesus was the second Adam. Before He was crucified on the cross, death was in its primacy. After His crucifixion and resurrection death was conquered. All those who now die in Christ can be assured of an eternity with Him in the life to come. He will raise His chosen from the tombs where they now sleep, just as He did with Lazarus. The trumpet will blow and those who are in their graves will come forth and be caught up into the air with those who are still alive at Christ's second coming and they will be transported to heaven where they will live for a 1000 years. They will judge the wicked dead who are still in their graves and the fallen angels waiting on a desolate earth still in hope of defeating their creator. After the earth is finally cleansed and the devil and his angels will no longer exist, having been burned to ashes, (Malachi 4:3),a new world order under Christ will begin. I know where I want to be and I hope you will join me in serving God for the remainder of your life.  You will be eternally grateful that you did.
