God's True Love

LEN'S LINES --- A Little Religion On A Positive Note By Len Granger

When we are born into this world we are crying and everyone around us is smiling. As we live our life as a child we learn to smile and show love to our parents and friends. When our gracious and loving Lord Jesus Christ comes into our lives, we then know true love of our Lord and how to share love with others.

We see in the Bible, John 13-34.35, " A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another, as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this all men shall know you are my disciples, if ye have love one to another".

I can relate this to my own situation of how the Lord speaks to us in our relationships. My wife of 55 years had many physical ailments and when we took a long RV trip around the country, we would invite her brother's widow to accompany us. Our sister in law was very friendly and helped in so many ways as we traveled to Yellowstone Park, the Badlands and across the nation to Iowa and Illinois in 2008. On the return trip through Colorado and over the beautiful mountains, my wife realized this just might be her last trip as she was in lots of pain and discomfort. She said I will plan the next trip but you and Marge will be taking it. My wife went home to be with the Lord just two months later. However, she realized that I would have a difficult time living alone, as she knew me well after our long marriage together. Our sister in law told my wife, whom realized we were best of friends, she would join me on the farm as soon as she could retire from WalMart in a couple months. On her death bed my wife said, I just know you and Marge will have a wonderful Christian life together.

After four years of companionship on the farm, my sister in law gave me and my daughters a six month notice she was going back to her home in Clear Lake, CA and her family. My efforts to find a companion or wife have not been successful, so Marge said she would stay on till things worked out. It was then we realized the Lord may have plans for us and each of us prayed for His protection and guidance.

My sister in law finally said, "Yes, I will marry you., and we will be married this fall. We believe it is the Lord's will after living in a Christian brother sister relationship, that we be united as husband and wife. The Lord is the first love in our lives and and we share the rest of our lives together till the Lord calls us home.

Trust we are all in the church of our choice this Sunday worships our gracious and loving Lord Jesus Christ.

God Bless America
