Tried and Purified
by Cinda Carter

Jesus was tried in the wilderness...
After a forty day fast alone with God to face the task.
Satan tempted Jesus at His weakest moment,
Jesus was tried and tested by Satan for us to be an atonement.

Satan used the word of God...
And took it out of context, this was his plot.
Jesus had no sin in Him,
But Satan still attempted to mislead Christ so, he could win.

The enemy used three tactics to draw Jesus in...
Satan tempted Jesus with the illusion of bowing down before him.
Through the flesh, the world and the devil,
By trying to bring Jesus Christ down to his level.

Jesus our Lord used the Word of God...
Satan quoted the scriptures to lure our Lord into His plot.
By using Spiritual Weapons along with God's Word,
Jesus won the victory over the devil by being faithful to His Father our Lord.

After the testing...
God sent angels as messengers.
To minister to Him,
And to give Jesus strength from within.

Then Jesus was ready...
With the message of God's forgiveness toward man.
He gives us God's peace through Salvation's plan.
Through His commitment to us we are able to make a stand.

We too will be tried and purified...
Discerning with God's Word, Satan's lies.
Be not deceived by the devils strategies,
For God is faithful to those with faith in Jesus to believe.

The plan has been fulfilled...
Jesus gave His life for us and loves us still.
Their is no greater love than this that a man lay down His life for His friends.
Because of Christ we have the forgiveness of sin.
