Reflection
by Janice Wappel Thought for today: I look at my face in the mirror and wonder who I am. A wrinkle, a crease, a scar; all tell the story of where I have been. Have I taken care of my skin, or simply hoped it would care for its self? I look at my heart through the eyes of God and I see myself as I really am. My soul becomes naked and bare before Him. My heart tells the story of where I have been and what I have done. Have I taken care of my soul, or hoped it would care of its self? Proverbs 27:19 reminds us of this truth: "As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man." Question: What does your heart reflect when no one else is looking? I write short stories and poems that are often inspired by the scriptures I read. I am married and have two grown children and one grandson.
