Persistant Love is Contagious
by harvestgal Ndaguba

Wind crashes
Leaves blow
I held out my hand
But he said no

Tears came
I felt his shame
I wanted to hold him
I knew of his pain

Why do we run
Why do we hide
Why do we stumble
Beneath our pride

I reached out and grabbed him
Ignoring his sin
I told him I loved him
And I was his friend

Though he fought against me
I wouldn't let go
He tried to resist me
thought I was his foe

But just as God loved me
when I was so cold
and gave up His life
So that me He could hold

I showed him agape
Stood with him steadfast
Till finally he crumbled
Surrendered at last

Wind crashes
Leaves blow
He held out his hand
And he wouldn't let go
