Ray of Hope
by PamFord Davis

My husband and I recently viewed an often-aired documentary, on the Dust Bowl catastrophes of the 1930's. The stories shared by those who lived through those horrific experiences were tragic. One segment focused on the stories of suicide accounts. Young, old, from farmers to bankers-multitudes lost hope.

I wonder if there would have been such high suicide numbers if people had caught sight of a ray of hope. A brighter morning would replace bitter mourning. "This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Thy faithfulness (Lamentations 3:21-23 NAS)."
