by Pastor QT Nyathi When the struggle is so fierce, And the relentless wolves keep coming, Hope against hope, When the pain is so deep, You scream silently, Hope against hope, When your heart is broken to a thousand pieces, And you don't know which piece is the real you, Hope against hope, When your own shepherd has written you off, And your siblings switch-off, Hope against hope, When death seems to be the only way out, And life doesn't make sense, Hope against hope, When you've gone from meeting to meeting, But the wound keeps on bleeding, Hope against hope, When you've wrestled all night until day break, But there is no break in the pain, Hope against hope, When you've quoted, confessed, and decreed, But you are still caught in the web, Hope against hope, When you are confused and cornered, And everything is so dark, Hope against hope, When you don't have an ounce of strength left, And you just can't go on, Hope against hope, When you are a lifeless carcass, And you've been eaten-up inside, Hope against hope, When all the facts and figures scream it's all over, And you are overwhelmed by it all, Hope against hope, When the hurt is so intimate and intense, It's so hard to share, Hope against hope, When every high-tech machine has failed to detect and diagnose, And every specialist has folded their arms in defeat, Hope against hope, When you are being tortured by evil beings, And you hear and see them calling, crawling, and clawing, Hope against hope, When your story is too horrific to believe, And you are living a horror movie from hell, Hope against hope, When it's all bloody tears, No more cheers, Hope against hope, When it seems the enemy has won, And it all doesn't work, Hope against hope, When all hope is gone, And you are left all alone, Hope against hope, Hope child of God, Hope, Just hope. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken; so shall thy seed be.
