A Nation of Fornication
by Cinda Carter

What standards have we set for ourselves?
A nation that only thinks of one's self.
Our own ambitions,
Our own explanations.

No longer are we called a nation of God.
We have decided that we don't need Him in this world we trod.
We have taken prayer from our schools.
Young people fight out in a dual.

Killing one another for no reason to explain.
Only heartache for the families who have lost their way.
No more absolutes,
Only in that which comes with an attitude.

Dear Heavenly Father,
How much more is there to endure.
We live together before marriage,
Because we are afraid of commitment so, we tarry.

In the 1970's more than 70% of Americans believed in marriage first.
Planning a family after marriage was known to be the norm by giving birth.
Now 66% of our younger generation thinks it's okay to live with one another.
Before you even say the "I do", with an attitude of why bother.

Men marrying men,
Women marrying women.
Pushing on us their immoral rights,
Taking our nations rights to fit their life.

God have mercy on us,
Forgive us for being complacent in our thoughts.
By not teaching our young people absolutes through God's Word,
For letting the inevitable happen before the surge.
