Will You Imagine It?
by Annagail Lynes Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against you; pray to the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. 8And the LORD said to Moses, Make you a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks on it, shall live. 9And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it on a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. - Numbers 21:7-9 (NIV) The Israelites complained. They became disgruntle and disobedient. God allowed snakes to enter the camp. Poisonous snakes. If bit, they would die. God loved them even though they hurt Him so much, so He gave them a way of escape. He told Moses to erect a brass serpent on a pole. As long as the Israelites kept their eyes on the brass serpent, they lived. If they didn't, they died. Jesus is our brass serpent on the pole. If we keep our eyes on what Jesus did for us on the Cross, if we keep our eyes on how He took our sins, every pain, every sorrow, we go through, we will live. Keeping our eyes on Jesus is the key to living the victorious, overcoming life. Don't just see Him on the Cross. Imagine it. See the blood trickling down His face from the crown of thorns embedded on His head for our peace of mind. See the blood trailing down His forehead to take your headaches and brain disorders, even brain cancer. Then see it dropping into His eyes to heal your eyesight and glaucoma. And so forth. See it. Imagine it. Hold the scene before your eyes when you feel sick, broke or down. Keeping your eyes on Jesus, our brass serpent on a pole, will cause you to live healed, whole and peaceful in all areas of your life.
