The diamond makes their engagement official. God has used a diamond to make His point. "The sin of Judah is written down with an iron stylus; With a diamond point it is engraved upon the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of the altars (Jeremiah 17:1 NAS)." The diamond point officially documented sin. God's word is sharp and to the point. "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12 NAS)."
