Doused in Oz
by PamFord Davis

I recently toured the land of Oz; well, actually I went back to Chittenango, NY for my 45th high school class reunion. L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, was born in 1856 at Chittenango. I've been pondering several life lessons from the children's story

Beware of bumps to your head.
Dreams often come in Technicolor.
We need friends.
Dogs make excellent traveling companions.
Things are frequently different from what they appear to be.
In the end, good triumphs over evil.

When doused with water, the wicked witch melted away into oblivion. I witness evil in the world around me; at times, it seems the ungodly are winning the war of good versus evil. In reality, good will win out in the end.

How can I take part in that win? I will access the powerful living water of Christ Jesus; praising Him, I pour victorious living water upon evil forces. I stand back and watch as God Himself wins the battle.

"Thus says the LORD to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's (2 Chronicles 20:15b NKJ)."
