"Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub"

Singing the whimsical song, Mom poured shampoo on my head as I leaned over at the kitchen sink. I'm clueless to why she selected the song; yet, the rhythm was in sync with her gentle hand motion. Repeatedly, she moved her fingers around and around, working the shampoo into a rich lather.

When the lather atop my little head reached her idea of perfection, Mom began to rinse it away with warm water. My hair was clean; relaxed, I came very close to falling asleep. She had worked in the shampoo and worked out dirt of a child at play. As an adult, I work in cleansing by God's word and work out my salvation.

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure (Philippians 2:12b-13 Pilgrim Study Bible)."
