Fervent or Flustered?
by PamFord Davis

How do I handle a crisis? Do I pray or panic? What best describes me, fervent or flustered, believing or baffled? I can take my spiritual growth temperature; if I abide in Christ and His word abides in me, my heart is ablaze. Problems pop up when I least suspect them; in desperation, with devotion, I cry out to God.

"Is any among you afflicted? let him pray (James 5:13a NAS)." Pray! "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (KJV)." I cannot control circumstances; I can control how I respond. Will I allow myself to falter or take the problems to my Father? It is a matter of my will, yielding to His will and praying in faith.
