Ruffled Emotionally
by PamFord Davis

Ruffles still have ridges. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-3xnCyVJaw

I too quickly allow circumstances to get the best of me, becoming ruffled and irritable. Ridges on potato chips are an asset; the combination of chip ruffles and dip are a hit. Wherever football fans gather, you are likely to find them munching. Be it in front of giant flat screen televisions or tailgate parties, they alternate attention from game of pigskin to pigging out.

High time I sort out troublesome thoughts. When ruffled, ridges form a wall of separation between God and me. If I give him my problems, he smooths out the ridges, restores my peace and strengthens my faith in Christ Jesus. "God's peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds (Philippians 4:7b ERV)."
