It's a Cinch!
by PamFord Davis "It'll be easy!" "It's a cinch!" Sometimes I can take an assigned task too lightly. Snapping my fingers, I smile and say, "It's a cinch!" I may have just bitten off more than I can chew, assuming it'll be "a piece-a' cake" I may soon "swallow my pride." It is a sure sign of failure. Instead, I need to cinch my belt, depend upon God and employ his armor. I tighten my belt of truth; I daily cinch it securely around my waist. "Hold your position, then, with your waist encircled with the belt of truth (Ephesians 6:14a Williams New Testament)." Truth serves as both a defensive tool and weapon of attack. Satan hits the road when I proclaim God's word and claim his promises.
