Just Couldn't Resist
by PamFord Davis I understand why people tend to turn the channel when commercials come on. Yet, advertising put bread on our table when we owned and operated radio stations and a Low Power television station. Advertisers can be persuasive. They don't resort to arm twisting; instead they appeal to our desires. Surely, you have said after buying a product, "I just couldn't resist!" I can resist temptations. I can, but do I? "But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore, submit to God. But resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you (James 4:6-8a HCS)." If I resist temptations, the Devil will make tracks. "I just couldn't resist" does not hold water.
