Faith
by Yvette Nietzen

Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and signs among the people.

A few days ago I was meditating on the word faith. What came to mind were the times I would pray for physical healing for others, and not always see results. To be honest, this can be discouraging. I am now in full time ministry, and I now see fruit in the lives of those I pray for.

As I continued meditating on faith, the Lord gave me a beautiful vision. I was praying for someone (don't know who) and facing this person. My right hand was laid upon their right shoulder. Standing behind me was Jesus. His right hand was laid upon my right shoulder as I continued praying for this person in my vision.

I understood at that moment that my faith was backed up by Jesus, and He has an abundance of faith, more than we can ask or imagine. In other words, I have His full backing whenever I pray for someone.

This is where I and many of us went wrong. We think it's us doing the work, when in reality it is Jesus whom works in and through us to minister to His bride.

Now when I pray and minister, I see Jesus standing behind me, smiling and saying "Go for it, give it all you've got, I'm right here behind you." But I want more. I desire more of an intimate relationship with Him. How do I do that? Read and meditate on the word, because He is the word that became flesh. I heard a preacher say, "Go after Him with all you've got." That is what I intend to do.

What do Stephen, David, Moses, Paul and many others in the Bible have in common? They were able to perform mighty miracles, signs and wonders. It was a direct, intimate relationship with the Father-Jesus. They were doing what they saw their Father doing.

We can have and do what they did, the gifts, calling, signs, wonders, miracles, healings are not lost. What has been lost is that intimate relationship that gives us the assurance that Jesus has our back, and He desires to see us walk in that power and authority that is our inheritance.

I challenge you to go after Him with all you've got. You will not be disappointed.
